8 maj 2012 · They used Mercon V in the transfer case (which I thought was a little strange at the time since there is a dedicated transfer case fluid--Part No. XL-12). I had read in different forums that ATF is often used in XFer cases, so at the time I did not ponder over it too long.
11 cze 2017 · 2014 owners manual shows Transfer Case Fluid XL12. Saw somewhere that Mercon LV ATF is approved to be used in the transfer case. Need confirmation on this. Which oil is currently being utilized?
28 lut 2005 · I drained and refilled the transfer case in my 2002 4WD V6 4.0L Ford Explorer at 60,000 miles with Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF. Works like a charm. I would choose any good quality ATF for a tcase to replace the Mercon that was the factory fill.
5 cze 2002 · I have a 2006 F-150 4X4, and recently did a search to find out what should be used in the transfer case. I don't have an owner's manual. Found a website that showed either Mercon LV or XL-12.

10 wrz 2020 · Motorcraft XL vs. Mercon LV (Transfer Case) I took my new to me 2015 F-250 6.7L 4WD to my local Ford dealership today to have the 150K mile transmission service and coolant system service performed. While I was there, I asked to purchase some transfer case fluid so I could perform that maintenance.
9 wrz 2018 · From my understanding Ford XL-12 transfer case fluid has been discontinued and now switched over to Mercon LV for all transfer cases. If concern with using LV can use Valvoline Transfer Case Fluid (XL-12 equivalent) or Mercon V.
