Students. Canvas is the University’s Learning Management System. It is used by instructors to share course materials, post assignments, activities, and much more. Learn about how to participate in Canvas courses as a student by visiting the Canvas Student Orientation. Follow the links below for more information.
Any member of the Montclair State community will be able to log into Canvas between 4 to 8 hours after setting up their initial NetID password. New accounts and account updates are imported five times per day per feeds from Banner.
Set up a (either a Canvas page or Canvas modules) that orients students to the course as a whole and clearly indicates where and how to get started. Use that are logically organized (e.g., weekly, thematically) and consistently structured.
Starting Off With Canvas. Step 1: Go to https://montclair.instructure.com or go to www.montclair.edu, click on STUDENT. SERVICES and the on Canvas. Step 2: Enter your username and password. (The ones used for e-mail) NOTE: passwords are case sensitive! You will see a screen like the one below.
