Dr. Jaime M. Feliciano was installed the First President of Misamis University. In 1979, the B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering and Nursing gained government recognition. The Bachelor in Agricultural Technology was granted government permit.

The school site was transferred to Misamis (now Ozamiz City) so that the school could serve a bigger segment of the population.
