If password not update, again try to change password by follow the method to see the effect. In Outlook, choose File > Account Settings > Manage Profile Accounts>Email Accounts. Select Change. Type the new password into the password field then select NEXT. Sometimes add-ins can conflict with Outlook.

Go to https://myaccount.google.com/security-checkup and see if it says security issues found (it will) – then review them. If you don't use 2-step auth, check and see if allow less secure apps was disabled.

As mentioned before, you’ll need to generate a special “App password” for Outlook instead of trying to logon with your current Gmail password.
