If the USB device does not work after it has been detected and the driver installed, there may be a problem with the device itself or the device needs a specific driver to be installed. These problem devices are usually marked with a yellow triangle at the beginning of the list in the device manager.

The blinking red light as LandShark says is only a drive activity light, it would have no effect on the drive's performance / ability to read/write files. If you want to ensure the drive is done reading/writing files when you are ready to eject it, select the Safely Eject option from Windows.
17 paź 2021 · I have multiple MicroCenter USB 3.1 32GB flash drives that the issue. Originally, they worked, but as soon as I tried to copy multiple files and folders onto them for the first time, they show the error.
Go to MyComputer/Manage/USB Controller/USB Mass Storage/Unistall while plugged, then remove it, and re-plug in, the driver will -re-installed. It solved it on my computer.
They have a Micro Center flash drive (mostly 16GB or 32GB) with what seems to be a black cover for the internal components and no activity light. I got a 5 pack of these from Amazon a couple of years ago and just recently opened the pack and noticed this issue. So I broke open one of the USB drives.

Most usb 3 and 3.1 flash drives are junk. That's just the interface support, not the max speed for reading and writing. I recommend the Samsung BAR drives as they have fast read and write. You can usually price match them from other stores at microcenter. Even a majority of Sandisk flash drives are crap speeds.
