Our radar image shows the intensity of precipitation at a specific point in time. The images in the past show actual radar measurements with the lightning discharges. The images in the future are precipitation forecasts based on weather models.
MeteoSwiss produces automated weather forecasts for various time scales, from analysis and short-range weather forecasts (0–6 hours) through to five-day forecasts. Depending on the requirements, these forecasts can be obtained for one location or for the whole of Switzerland.
MeteoSwiss provides a broad spectrum of weather information. This information ranges from special forecasts and hazard warnings to measurement data from monitoring stations and satellites.
The weather radar (Switzerland) shows where it is currently raining or snowing. The radar map is updated every 5 minutes with a new radar observation. The different colours indicate the intensity of rainfall or snowfall.
