To power up and activate the power steering pump, there are three steps: 1) Turn the POWER switch to the ON position to power up the pump, 2) Wait for two seconds, then, 3) Turn the PUMP switch to the ON position to activate the pump. IMPORTANT: Do not run the pump out of fluid.
