25 cze 2022 · Here is how power gets distributed in your Tesla Model 3: Tesla Main Battery: Provides powertrain; Provides energy for air conditioner and cabin heater; DC-DC charging of 12V battery; Tesla 12V Secondary Battery: Powers lights, media unit, windows, locks, etc. Provides energy backup when the main battery starts dying!
Something about the electronics/battery management being different. Asked for the cost of proactive replacement of the 12v battery (replacing with a new one of the same type of battery, not a lithium one) - he said $200 which includes both parts and labor.

My Prius experience is the first indications of a problem were with cold weather as the OEM battery would last 3-5 years depending on climate. My after market replacements, Odyssey brand, lasted much longer. Thanks, Bob Wilson
If I’m looking to purchase a 2018 Model 3, is there a narrower price range I can expect to pay for a battery replacement? I want to calculate the cost of maintenance for buying used versus new. Is there a specific place I can find other Tesla maintenance over the life of the vehicle? Thanks!
The last time I saw it a few months ago the Model S was ~$22k and the Model 3LR was ~$11,800. Plus several hours of labor. Probably 99%+ of battery replacements would be covered under either either the vehicle warranty (or by your car insurance if it was physically damaged by an exterior peril).
