Having talked about the pre-war Martin D-28 in last month's issue, I thought it would be a good moment to featurea dreadnought from the series of guitars that Martin started making in the 1850s and have produced continually ever since: the Style 21 guitar.
18 gru 2017 · The D-21 Special is a dreadnought built with a Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides. Over the years, style-21 guitars have been built with either ebony or rosewood fingerboards and bridges, and the new D-21 Special’s are rosewood, the same as the D-21s Martin built in the 1950s.

26 wrz 2024 · Here's a summary of interesting items I discovered. The first D-21 was stamped in September of 1955 and has a serial number of 145604. The last D-21 is 254522 in 1969. D21's have a Style 28 back strip, Style 18 rosette, and a Style 28 fretboard dots.
1956 Martin D-21. First made in 1955, the D-21 is a rosewood dreadnought that’s just the same as a D-28 except for a few cosmetic elements. Where a D-28 has ebony fingerboard and bridge, the D-21 has rosewood.
