He does not seek to correct their poor theology or remind them of the whole tradition of God’s deliverance and care for the people of Israel. (in contrast to Matthew’s narrative in which Jesus’ first critiques the disciples’ lack of faith, 8:26).
Jesus has power over the storms of life, experiences them alongside us, loves us, saves us from them and wants us to trust him more than we do. Let’s look at a lesson that might not be so obvious. Storms don’t worry Jesus. He’s right there with us during them, but he’s perfectly calm about them.

Verses 35-41: Jesus Calms the Storm As they cross the Sea of Galilee, a violent storm arises. Jesus, awakened by His fearful disciples, rebukes the wind and the waves, showcasing His divine authority and power over nature.

In our familiar story this morning the disciples of Jesus have their lack of faith exposed in the crisis of the storm on the Sea of Galilee. Jesus rebukes them with some stinging words for their cowardice and lack of faith. They have allowed their fears to consume their faith.
