10 cze 2024 · Patients with evidence of fluid loss require replacement fluid therapy as described in the 2024 AAHA Fluid Therapy Guidelines for Dogs and Cats. When writing a fluid prescription, set the maintenance fluid rate at 40–100 mL/kg/day (based on patient species and age).
The maintenance fluid plan should address three ongoing requirements: replacement of lost interstitial volume (rehydration), maintenance fluids (for normal homeostasis), and replacement of ongoing losses.
