13 lip 2014 · Since installing Windows 7 + Bootcamp on my Macbook Pro, I've been unable to change the brightness. Pressing the F1/F2 keys makes the brightness graphic appear and a bar moves up and down, but the brightness of the screen remains constant.

Installing Apple Hal Driver from much newer Boot Camp install package intended for a newer model. It installed successfully and has had no negative side effects, but still doesn't get me that brightness control. Disabling "generic pnp monitor" in Device Manager.
So I have a 2010 15" macbook pro (MBP6,1) and I replaced the optical drive with a hard disk. I wanted to install windows 7 on the hard disk with boot camp with a USB and ISO image.

But, the function keys for brightness and volume controls no longer work. I read a few sources saying you need to install the bootcamp 5.1.5621 drivers after updating to windows 10, which I tried - it didn't change anything. Has anyone figured out how to re-enable them?
