MPlayer does not work on Mac OS versions before 10, but should compile out-of-the-box on Mac OS X 10.2 and up. The preferred compiler is the Apple version of GCC 3.x or later. You can get the basic compilation environment by installing Apple's Xcode.

INSTALLATION. You'll have to install svgalib and its development package in order for MPlayer build its SVGAlib driver (autodetected, but can be forced), and don't forget to edit /etc/vga/libvga.config to suit your card and monitor.

28 lip 2010 · I go to macports.org official site and search for mplayer inside available ports. I see there are two packages: mplayer cannot be installed on 10.6.x but mplayer-devel can. I installed it and be able to do all of the operation. Thanks you guy for sharing.
