3 sie 2022 · These magazines are usually identified by the Colt pony on the baseplate, and a couple of letter codes that indicate the finish and the subcontractor. These are the codes for those magazines: M=Metalform
12 lut 2021 · General Shaver mags are easily identified by the spot welded seam on the back. I have had many and the G is often lightly rolled. These are pretty desirable and worth quite a bit, depending on condition.
9 mar 2021 · Usually 1911 magazines with 2 holes in the base plate are IPSC magazines and the holes are there for the installation of rubber bump pads. IPSC utilizes rapid mag changes and when the mags drop free they are often damaged when landing on the ground or concrete floor.

In response to repeated requests for clarification on the types and makers of M1911 series magazines during the World Wars and post-War, here is a brief outline: "Two-tone" magazines. These are the type that were made up until just before WWII.
