After our Luke 10 lawyer answered correctly, Jesus said: “Do this and you will live.” So, Jesus basically told him if you want eternal life obey the law. This is reminiscent of Jesus’s answer to the rich young ruler also. At first glance, Jesus’s answer seems to contradict the heart of the gospel!
