7 gru 2007 · I'm going to change the gearbox on my Grasshopper mower deck (PTO drive) with some leftover 75w140 or 85w140. The gearbox contains gear oil, but the manufacturer doesnt provide a type, and only states to replace when the box fails.
20 lut 2016 · What oil s needed for a rotary mower gearbox? I bought my gearbox and built my deck and frame so I have no manual. Will just any good gear oil suffice?
8 gru 2012 · I'd been told to pump that whole gear housing full of grease. Due to being prone to problems. I don't know if that's accurate or even proper but I've done that in both my 48 and 60" decks with now problems so far.
We do a partial drain during lifting of the left side deck, this method is not worth the trouble not to mention the potential hazards that come along with it...
Rotary mowers are equipped with either shear bolts or slip clutches for PTO and gearbox protection. For those with shear bolts, use only a Grade 2 bolt when replacing

10 maj 2003 · Deere makes two different gear oils. Not sure which I am using, but I think it's 85w-140. What oil brand and grade would you guys suggest for a deck gearbox running off the PTO?
