I got a quote from an installer for about $7500 total. Price includes a Lopi medium fireplace insert, face plate, and a 6" liner. Price seems reasonable but I've never heard of the brand before. Anyone here with experience?

13 maj 2010 · I'm considering purchasing a Lopi Answer stove to heat a 1300 sq ft ranch style home. Anyone here have any poor experiences with this stove. I realizee the stove has only a 1.6 cu foot firebox - Will I get sick of constantly tending the fire?

Not who you replied to, but I had this exact model installed in September, and it was about $8k all-in. That included hiring an electrician to install the wiring kit, getting an old gas line capped off, and buying a hearth extension. $7k definitely sounds fair for an all-in price.
I have a Lopi Answer from ~2007. It's a good stove, well-built. On this Lopi, pulling the handle all the way out restricts the air the most. On the Lopi Republic/1750, it is the opposite (go figure). My Answer can hold coals quite well for a morning reload on coals 10 hours after last reload (load at 8pm, reload on coals at 6am).
