The G3 pros vs C3: has lower latency, higher brightness, a heat sync, higher color accuracy, better shadows, and less glare. G3 cons: cost more, not as good in some low light shots can appear muddy. C3 Pros: costs less, uses same processor, looks better in low light shots, same VVR. C3 cons:
A lot of people say there isn’t a noticeable difference between the C3 and G3, but the G3 had better viewing angle and the whites really popped. It was also cooler to the touch. The heatsink may add to panel life.
I’m undecided between the G3 and C3 both 55”. My room is fairly bright but it won’t have direct sun on the screen. The main use of the tv will be streaming, PS5 and normal tv.
G3 feels like getting your first OLED again and watching that HDR/DV 4K movie or show you have been waiting to see with proper TV. You didn’t tell the size, but if you are buying 83”, C3 will give better value for money (if that matters to you). But 77” or anything below, G3 is the way.
I’m curious how immensely significant, or mildly improved the G3 would present as. From just a quick, “I’m scrolling on my phone, oh G3 vs C1, cool — swipe swipe swipe” point of view, not some in depth pixel by pixel analysis. I know the technical advantages of the G3 are pretty dramatic.
Rtings.com has a review for the C4 indicating that it’s not worth upgrading from C3 unless you want the 144Hz refresh for gaming. So unless you take full advantage of that, you’ll have spent thousands for literally nothing. Nope. I would wait 3 years or so and get a C6 or G6.
