3 paź 2024 · In grain crops such as maize (Zea mays), leaf angle (LA) is a key agronomic trait affecting light interception and thus planting density and yield. Nitrogen (N) affects LA in plants, but we lack a good understanding of how N regulates LA. Here, we report that N deficiency enhanced lignin deposition in the ligular region of maize seedlings.
6 lis 2017 · Leaf angle, defined as the inclination between the leaf blade midrib and the stem, is one of the most important canopy architecture parameters that influence light interception, photosynthetic efficiency, and planting density.
11 lip 2017 · Boxed regions of adult leaves (shown as insets) emphasize differences in leaf angle (yellow lines) at the blade-sheath boundary. (B) Leaf angle for juvenile leaves 2 and 3; more upright leaves have smaller leaf angles, whereas droopy leaves have larger leaf angles.
25 sie 2021 · The objectives were to (1) characterize the phenotypic variation of leaf angle from the 285 inbred lines across 3 consecutive years; (2) identify SNP markers associated with leaf angle across 3 years, and (3) identify candidate genes for leaf angle.
findings with literature to determine leaf angle changes over a century of breeding. We measured leaf angle in 78 maize hybrids released between 1980 and 2020 across eight environments in the US Corn Belt.
20 kwi 2023 · Diagram of leaf and solar angles. θl is the leaf inclination angle from horizontal, equivalent to the angle between the leaf normal and the zenith (the green arrow is the leaf...
20 kwi 2023 · We suggest a few key directions to take, including (I) understanding the environmental and biological drivers of leaf angle by quantifying the global variations in leaf angle, (II) exploring the coordinated relationship between leaf angle as a canopy structural trait and other leaf traits, and (III) efficiently incorporating leaf angle in ...
