Kubota Garden is a 20-acre (81,000 m 2) Japanese garden in the Rainier Beach neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. [ 1 ] A public park since 1987, it was started in 1927 by Fujitaro Kubota, a Japanese emigrant. Today, it is maintained as a public park by the Seattle Parks and Recreation and the Kubota Garden Foundation.

14 paź 2021 · Sadly, the Kubota family, like many other Japanese, were interned during the war. They were assigned to live at Camp Minidoka in Idaho. During this time, Fujitaro helped to build a community park and a Japanese rock garden in the camp. After the war, the Kubota family returned to Seattle.
Kubota Garden is owned and operated by Seattle Parks & Recreation (SPR). Kubota Garden Foundation partners with SPR to enhance and protect the Garden and stay true to Fujitaro and Tom Kubota’s vision .
Beautiful Japanese Garden with lovely winding paths. On the way from the airport to Seattle. Free parking and free entrance. We spent a few hours here, but I would suggest anywhere from 30 minutes to half a day. Picnic area and restrooms available. We enjoyed it more than the Seattle Japanese Garden.
