21 lis 2024 · Kosovo - Religion, Islam, Christianity: Kosovo does not have an official religion. More than nine-tenths of the people, including most Albanians, are Muslim. A significant proportion of Muslims are only nominally so; many do not regularly attend mosque services, although fasting for Ramadan is widely practiced.
Sunni Islam is the dominant religion among Kosovo Albanians, accounting for around 88% to 94% of this population. Kosovo’s political and social elite claims to be secular and tolerant. Serbian Orthodoxy is the second-largest religious denomination after Islam, while around 1.3% of Kosovo Albanians and Croats are Catholic.

Almost all Kosovo Serbs belong to the SOC. The majority of ethnic Ashkali, Bosniaks, Egyptians, Gorani, Roma, and Turks are also Muslim, while most ethnic Montenegrins and some Roma are Christian Orthodox. Nearly all ethnic Croats are Catholic.
