It shows Texas, extending to Wyoming, in its largest configuration before the Compromise of 1850. The map had many influential supporters and included signatures of four Texas senators and representatives, as well as the commissioner of the General Land Office.

The First Continental Congress met briefly in Carpenter's Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from September 5 to October 26, 1774. Delegates from twelve of the Thirteen Colonies that would ultimately join in the Revolutionary War participated.
