The Knickerbocker Club (known informally as The Knick) is a gentlemen's club in New York City that was founded in 1871. It is considered to be the most exclusive club in the United States and one of the most aristocratic gentlemen's clubs in the world.
In 1891, a group of distinguished gentlemen gathered at the Knickerbocker Club, now on 62nd Street, and formed the Metropolitan Club. JP Morgan was their first president and the land that the club stands on was acquired from the Duchess of Marlborough.

A beautiful old world club on the southeast corner of 62nd street. I came here for a good friend's engagement party, cocktails for about 150 people. Beautiful large windows on the second floor overlooking Park Ave.
