I believe automatic stands can work like puppeteer characters in fighting games. Basically, majority of the skills will come from the “puppet” ( in this case the automatic stand ). You can send the stand out but when it’s attacked, you won’t be damaged because it’ll act kind of like a meat shield for the summoner.
