King Slime behaves similarly to a slime, performing a high leap every 4 jumps. All jumps are boosted relative to the vertical distance between the slime and the player, increasing his jump speed and height by 3.2% every block and capping at a 100% bonus.
King Slime will jump toward the player and summon slimes when struck. At lower health, he will summon stronger slime variants. Occasionally, he will perform a large jump and teleport to a spot closer to the player.

The Slime Crown is a boss-summoning item used to summon King Slime.
