I rank white water kayaking on the Kettle River among my all-time favorite day trips. The tour combined beautiful scenery, the thrill of negotiating each set of rapids, and a sense of accomplishment when we pulled up to the landing at the end. We could have chosen to all go on a single raft, but we decided to go for it and take the kayaks.

23 kwi 2018 · There’s great flat water paddling on this section of the Kettle River, easy rapids, good fishing, frequent wildlife sightings and the lack of people. The “scenic” portion of the river is from the Carlton-Pine county line downstream to the old Sandstone dam site.
