  1. Purchased two weeks ago at Acoustic Music works here in Pittsburgh PA A Kentucky KM-250S. I believe this is last years model as it has the darker brown finish. If you go. to Saga's site they dropped the S and just call it the 250. and it only comes in the sunburst finish. It is a little odd that inside my mandolin only 250 it written, but with no S.

  2. Any KM-250s from China would be all solid. In general, the later the better as far as the year. Even in the early China years, these were the best mandolins at the price point. Nothing wrong with the early Chinese versions, they just got better as time went on.

  3. 16 lip 2014 · If you want a really great sounding mando for less than $1,000 this would definitely be worth looking into. Kentucky mandolins have been consistently good and I highly recommend it! Overall Rating: 10.

  4. The main differences will be that the KM-250 Mandolin uses slightly higher grades of woods, upgraded tuners and has a radiused fingerboard. Whether or not the flat fingerboard on the KM-150 is a disadvantaged, is really more of a personal call.

  5. This affordable Kentucky A-style mandolin features solid wood bound body of spruce top and maple back and sides in a gloss brown finish, bound rosewood fingerboard on mahogany neck, and adjustable ebony bridge.

  6. Up for sale is a wonderful sounding and easy playing Kentucky Mandolin KM-250S. The S means all solid woods; the top is solid spruce and the neck, sides and back are solid maple. No plywood! The color of this mandolin is absolutely beautiful.

  7. 1990s Kentucky KM-250S Mandolin (Serial No. 12200) Excellent condition. There is no accurate serial number list of Kentuckys, so the date is an educated guess. It might be older. Nice clean Kentucky A5 style mandolin with the snakehead heaadstock, solid spruce top and laminated maple back and sides. Rosewood bridge and fretboard.
