I'm trying to correct the usual IE bugs around CSS 2.1 and need a way to alter an elements style properties to add a custom text-align style. Currently in jQuery you can do something like $(this).width() or $(this).height()

The jQuery UI .position() method allows you to position an element relative to the window, document, another element, or the cursor/mouse, without worrying about offset parents. Note: jQuery UI does not support positioning hidden elements.
The position() method returns the position (relative to its parent element) of the first matched element. This method returns an object with 2 properties; the top and left positions in pixels.
