God's presence is not to be escaped; his spirit is everywhere. "In him we live, and move, and have our being" (Acts 17:28). When Jonah sought to flee from his presence, he only found himself brought more absolutely and more perceptibly into his presence (comp. Jeremiah 23:24).
Psalm 139:7-10 meaning. God is in all places at all times, so it is impossible to flee from Him. He is always present and reaching out to guide His people. At the beginning of Psalm 139, David refers to God as his Lord, in Hebrew "Yahweh," which is the proper name of God. It means "to exist."

Like fugitives, we may run, but we cannot ultimately hide from the God who penetrates even the darkness with the gaze of His light.
