It is an AMAZING starter horror movie. It haves some jump scares and a bit of gore. The movie has just the right amount of scary elements to ease you into horror movies. The language is a little bad, there are some inappropriate jokes, and there is some types of abuse in the movie, but if your kid is mature enough they should be able to handle it.
