You can also take the free shuttle bus, which runs from Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art to the Museum of Islamic Art, with stops at Qatar National Library, Doha Fire Station, and the National Museum of Qatar along the way. Open Sat-Thu 9am-7pm; Fri 1.30pm-7pm.
The museum is accessible by car, taxi or by one of our free shuttle buses. There is a taxi stand inside the museum parking area, and taxis can also be hailed on the Corniche, outside the museum’s front gate.
Museum staff will regulate the number of visitors in the museum and gallery spaces. First aid is available onsite at the museum. Please alert a security guard if you require immediate assistance. Accessibility. The museum's public areas are accessible to wheelchairs.
The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA; Arabic: متحف الفن الإسلامي) is a museum on one end of the seven-kilometer-long (4.3 mi) Corniche in Doha, Qatar. As per the architect I. M. Pei's specifications, the museum is built on an island off an artificial projecting peninsula near the traditional dhow harbor.
Located on Doha’s waterfront at the eastern end of the Doha Corniche in MIA Park, the Museum of Islamic Art is close to downtown. Visitors can take a free shuttle bus from the National Museum of Qatar to reach the museum or travel by taxi or rideshare.
Set in the MIA Park on the Doha waterfront, the museum building stands out as an architectural gem. Once inside, you will see masterpieces of Islamic art, including metalwork, ceramics, jewellery, woodwork, textiles and glass, collected from three continents and dating from the 7th to the 19th century. Entry to the museum is FREE.
