Criminal Scam - Avoid! This is a scam by a criminal organization. I originally subscribed for a laptop that was running slowly. MyCleanPC did not improve performance. I bought a new laptop and called to cancel. I was assured my subscription would be cancelled. I was charged a renewal. I again called to cancel.
It's more than just deliberately misleading; it's a scam, pure and simple. On par with other bullshit adware programs on the net and close to ransomware (if we consider it's showing you garbage that isn't there).
Technically, scaring people in order to sell them something is not illegal, it's just a selling tactic, so it's not a scam per se.
MyCleanPC is a scam offering unneeded services and charging for undelivered services. MyCleanPC is a version of CyberDefender that also sells as DoubleMySpeed.com and MaxMySpeed.com. All these programs are scams advertising unrealistic results and actually installing software that slows down computers.
