Apply for a transmitter control code (TCC) to e-file Forms 1099 with the Information Returns Intake System (IRIS). You can apply for an IRIS TCC for: Your business only (issuer) Your business and others (transmitter) Software developer. Your TCC can only be used for IRIS.
Before filers can use FIRE, they must get a TCC by completing an IR Application for TCC, formerly Form 4419, Application for Filing Information Returns Electronically. The TCC is a 5-digit code that identifies the business transmitting the electronic returns.
You will need to submit an Information Returns Application for Transmitter Control Code (TCC) to obtain a TCC, refer to Publication 5911 PDF, IR App for TCC Tutorial. Once you have your TCC, you will need to create a FIRE Account to use this option.
