6 lip 2021 · Electronic stethoscopes and digital phonocardiograms (DPCGs) can be applied when diagnosing cardiac murmurs, but their use for cardiac arrhythmias is not described in veterinary medicine. Data of 10 dogs are presented in this preliminary study, demonstrating the applicability of these techniques.
The goals of this study were to present a technique of digitalised sound re-cordings and phonocardiograms (dPCGs), and to analyse its diagnostic capabili-ties. Heart sounds of 20 dogs were auscultated in vivo (on-line) and recorded with dPCGs by two authors using a Welch Allyn Meditron Stethoscope System.
1 gru 2015 · Indications for further testing include: suspicion of a pathological murmur on the basis of auscultatory features or difficulty in interpreting the murmur; presence of additional abnormal heart sounds; detection of overt clinical signs that could be referable to cardiac disease; need to investigate whether a new murmur is associated with other ...
1 maj 2014 · The aim of this study was to compare the sensitivities and the diagnostic capabilities of traditional and electronic stethoscopes in detecting canine heart murmurs.
This study sought to evaluate if additional online training using digital phonocardiograms (DPCGs) improves students’ ability to identify normal and pathologic heart sounds in dogs. Thirty-six randomly assigned veterinary students listened to and interpreted 10 audio recordings of normal heart sounds (2), heart murmurs (4), and arrhythmias (4 ...
recording and phonocardiography in dogs with heart murmurs were described by V¨or ¨os et al. in 2011. Furthermore, it was shown that digital phonocardiography significantly improves the diagnostic accuracy of observers in the detection and characterization of cardiac murmurs (Szilv´asi et al., 2013).
