Readers need to alert them before it’s too late. I first discovered this scam through the blog of New Zealand author Maureen Crisp.
If you are illegally solicited by anyone claiming to be Inc. Business Media, please forward any correspondence received to care@inc.com (to aid us in our investigations) and then permanently block the sender by marking them as spam.

In the sidebar of the site is a blacklist of companies that have been identified as predatory — if the company you're dealing with appears in this list, it’s a clear no-go.
