An in-text citation is a short acknowledgement you include whenever you quote or take information from a source in academic writing.
To provide in-text citations, you must have the following two important elements: Name of the author or organization. Publication year. Types of in-text citations. APA citation follows the author–date system. Two types of in-text citations are used in APA style. However, it is not necessary to follow the same type of citation throughout the paper.
