The 2025 Spring Semester is open and closes Nov. 15, 2024. The application is only available online at vfw.org/Scholarship. A total of 660 veterans, military members and their families were supported through our VMS Programs during September 2024.
The VMS program oversees the Military Assistance Program (MAP), the Adopt-a-Unit Program, the Unmet Needs program, and the VFW’s "Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship”. We also oversee the donations which go to the VMS programs which provide the monetary support for most of these programs.

VMS Donations for All-American. Donating to the VMS Program can only be done via the Dashboard by going to the link "VMS Donation” at the upper right-hand corner of the screen. For the 2024-2025 Program year, your $125 or more donation to VMS Programs meets the eligibility criteria for All-American in this category. Donations must be received by June 30, 2025, to make All-American.

The Veterans Foundation of Illinois, Inc supports the many veterans programs administered by VFW Posts and Districts throughout Illinois. Programs, such as: · Homeless veterans – food, clothing and support of Stand-downs which provides resources to our homeless veterans.
The Illinois Veterans' Grant (IVG) Program pays tuition and mandatory fees at all Illinois state-supported colleges, universities and community colleges for eligible Illinois veterans.
