2 cze 2016 · The chapters on the Braconidae and Ichneumonidae integrate classical morphology-based phylogenies and subfamily-level classifications with more recent molecular phylogenetic results. They are comprehensive in taxonomic scope no matter whether the subfamilies under discussion have been studied or revised recently or not.
14 lis 2014 · The superfamily comprises two cosmopolitan families - Braconidae and Ichneumonidae - that have largely attracted separate groups of researchers, and this, to a considerable extent, has meant that understanding of their adaptive features has often been considered in isolation.
The Braconidae are a family of parasitoid wasps. After the closely related Ichneumonidae, braconids make up the second-largest family in the order Hymenoptera, with about 17,000 recognized species and many thousands more undescribed. [1]
1 cze 2016 · Microbiome studies of the parasitoid wasp, Dolichogenidea metesae (Nixon) (Hymenoptera, Braconidae) are important because D. metesae has potential as a biological control agent to suppress the ...
28 mar 2023 · The Ichneumonidae is the largest family of wasps with more than 24,000 species worldwide, and about 1,000 species in the Pacific Northwest. The Braconidae is also very large at almost 20,000 species worldwide.
Ichneumonids are distinguished from their sister group Braconidae mainly on the basis of wing venation. The fore wing of 95% of ichneumonids has vein 2m-cu (in the Comstock–Needham system ), which is absent in braconids.
14 lis 2014 · Currently, only two extant families are recognized, the Ichneumonidae and Braconidae, although it is possible that with additional phylogenetic understanding this could change slightly, especially if the placement of Trachypetinae shows that it belongs to stem Ichneumonidae rather than Braconidae.
