Honestly idk, I was doing my taxes on turbo taxes last night and it asked me about union dues and I put the amount I paid in and it increased my state return amount. I googled it and it appears it is deductible. Only do it if you’re itemizing though.

I'm curious for the Canadians out there - Do your locals deduct the international pension portion ($21/month) off of the yearly dues tax receipts? I've been asking around and am trying to figure out what we are actually supposed to be doing.
25 lut 2020 · Union dues in Box 14 of the W2, used to send them to misc itemized deductions...but I see what youre saying, it automatically codes them as state taxes now, when therye not.. I'll let someone know this needs to be fixed.
