According to ICAO’s preliminary compilation of annual global statistics, the total number of passengers carried on scheduled services increased to 2.3 billion in 2021, which is 28.1 per cent higher than the previous year, with the number of departures increasing to 24.2 million in 2021, a 19.2 per cent increase.
