IAS 39 and IFRS 9 deal with initial recognition of financial assets and liabilities, measurement subsequent to initial recognition, impairment, derecognition, and hedge accounting.
1 paź 2006 · IAS 39 requires a positive intent and ability to hold a financial asset to maturity. In order to be classified as held-to-maturity, a financial asset must also be quoted in an active market. This fact distinguishes held-to-maturity investments from loans and receivables.
IAS 32 specifies presentation for financial instruments. The recognition and measurement and the disclosure of financial instruments are the subjects of IFRS 9 or IAS 39 and IFRS 7 respectively. For presentation, financial instruments are classified into financial assets, financial liabilities and equity instruments.
