I work for a chain as my main job and moonlight at an independent, no comparison. If the independent could offer me 401k matching I’d be out in a second. It’s a shame what retail pharmacy has become, all metrics and clinical work. I have a great boss and it still sucks.

In short: People hate CVS because of poor management, I've never worked anywhere where it seemed leadership had such active disdain for the people that work for them.
customers that get angry because the pharmacy closes at 8 and it’s 8:01. people who smack the door buttons so hard they break. customers that don’t understand what i mean when i say you can’t buy prepaid cards with checks and get angry when it doesn’t go through.

21 maj 2009 · The truth is that CVS is a crappy place to work. High expectations but little support. You may be an exception but the high turnover rate tells another story. Pharmacists and techs have an option of not working at CVS but that doesn't mean it's not a crappy place to work.
