The seed string is hashed with a pretty normal looking string hash function which produces an int (32 bit signed). The int is used to seed unity's random number generator which is then used to generate some offsets. Those offsets are used with unity'd perlin nose function.

Apparently, there is now a command that can be typed into the console to find out what world seed is being used on a server and it isn't very clearly stated in the help section of the console commands. printseeds This works with non-admin accounts, so you can use it to pull up the world map on a second screen with https://valheim-map.world
27 lut 2021 · Obligatory not me, but another user on Reddit put together this little gem that will show you the map for your seed including trader, bosses, crypts, etc. Use it if you want. Or not.
The seed details page also links to the seed's map over at https://valheim-map.world/ (made by u/wd40bomber7, awesome tool!). I have some more improvements planned like a better search feature and potentially allowing save files to be uploaded so you can share builds in addition to seeds.
