The temps and time frames will vary slightly depending on the type of steel and the intended use of the blade. Custom knife makers are often reluctant to share their specific heat treating recipes because they consider them trade secrets.
30 paź 2006 · The Cutco hunter you are speaking of is a fine knife if used for cutting/slicing etc. It does not, however, rank with even a Buck 119 in terms of raw strength. Cutco makes a 440 blade which remains sharp for an extended period of time due to the edge configuration.
29 lis 2012 · They are bevel knives (scandi grind), very easy to sharpen, just lay the bevel flat on a stone, it guides itself. You can stick the stainless ones in the dishwasher to get the blood, hair, and gunk off them.
