The game is abandonware, Just the Steam version isn't, If you want to legally play Half Life for free, download it on old-games.ru, They give you the 1998 client for the game, Instead of the Steam release. That one should work on a 98 SE Laptop.
19 paź 2023 · This is a re-release of Half-Life from 2001. It comes bundled with Deathmatch Classic and Team Fortress Classic. The game is version 1.1.0.8. Uploaded for preservation purposes as it was the only one that I could find it was this version.
