Index -> Pro 2 or the other HTC devices means you get wireless and either eye tracking native (Eye) or as a supposed add-on in Q3 (Pro 2). I wouldn't want to go back to non-wireless at this point, and eye tracking is a big benefit for games like VRChat (and probably only games like that).
The resolution difference between the Vive Pro 2 and Index massively exceeds the difference from even the CV1 to the Quest 2. It has more than twice as many pixels. If you have a decent GPU it will look head and shoulders better than a Valve Index.
Don't miss OLED as I noticed the smearing everywhere when complete black turned to light, prefer the LCD of vive pro 2 as a result. HTC software needs more work, but I'm a fan of being able to select headset resolution manually + automatic startup of wireless with steamvr. tldr: Great visuals, terrible audio
