The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Health of the Government of Singapore. It is a multi-disciplinary agency responsible for applying medical, pharmaceutical, and scientific expertise to protect and advance public health and safety.
We regulate health products to meet standards of safety, quality and efficacy. HSA is the national authority regulating health products; managing the national blood bank, transfusion medicine and forensic medicine expertise; and providing critical forensic and analytical laboratory services.
Manufacturers must register all medical devices in Singapore’s Medical Device Information Communication System (MEDICS) and be approved by HSA before manufacturers can supply them in Singapore, except for some low-risk Class A devices. They are exempted from product registration.
