Meta-analysis of the studies assessing the relation between HIV infection and OSSN. * indicates that this RR estimate was computed by the authors of the present meta-analysis with data provided in the original report although the controls were frequency age- and sex-matched with the cases; a sensitivity analysis excluding this study yielded a summary RR of 9.1 (95% CI: 6.1–13.6, I 2 =43.8% ...
5 cze 2018 · In review 1, studies reported on the association between HIV and incident HPV infection for infection with HPV (N = 13), HR‐HPV (N = 10), LR‐HPV (N = 2), single HPV nonavalent vaccine type (N = 8) and by number of HPV types acquired (N = 2).
17 lut 2023 · These two viruses share a connection, but their symptoms, outlook, and treatment are not always the same. Read on to learn more about the differences and links between HPV and HIV.
While there is a strong association between HIV and the risk of OSSN , the role of HPV is less conclusive. Previous studies have suggested that only the cutaneous HPV subtype, and not the mucosal, is correlated with the presence of OSSN ( 14 , 81 ).
1 paź 2013 · Background: The frequency of ocular surface squamous neoplasias (OSSNs) has been increasing in populations with a high prevalence of infection with human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) and infection with human papillomavirus (HPV).
These data suggest that while oral HPV infection is more common among HIV-positive women compared with HIV-negative women, the incidence and natural history of HPV infection at these two mucosal sites are not highly correlated.
These results provide evidence for synergistic HIV and HPV interactions of clinical and public health relevance. HPV vaccination may directly benefit PLHIV, and help control both HPV and HIV at the population level in high prevalence settings.
