8 lut 2003 · The best you can hope for is a wax or polish that might fill the imperfections. Your best bet is to find a local plater that does clear anodizing. The current coating must be removed and polished, then it can be re-anodized. I'll look in my books to see how to remove it and get back to you .

8 cze 2006 · Fill the pan with enough warm water to cover the piece and then add enough drain cleaner to do the job - we find that 1 tablespoon of cleaner to one gallon of water will de-anodize a couple pieces like headlight bezels. Mix the cleaner thoroughly in the water and place the aluminum piece in it.

4 wrz 2016 · It depends on the trim, some you can polish, some are a thin layer of aluminium coated in plastic, they can go cloudy if the car has had aggressive TFR used on it, they are more difficult (sometimes impossible) to remedy. Good luck and post some pics of how you get on!
1 wrz 2012 · Any of you guys got a trick for restoring anodizes aluminum trim. Can it just be buffed out and clear coated, or is there a specific process to get it back to factory appearance? I know there are shops that do it, but they charge a fortune.
