It takes some time to get used to it but when you super jump, by keeping L2 pushed you will slowly go down AND be able to look around for your teammates with your right joystick. Otherwise your thumb has to choose between Jump or look around and I struggled with this a lot.
Having crouch and dash controls on different hands in general lets you more easily time them one after other, to start the superjump. Remember, crouch first, dash immediately after, release both controls as soon as you press them, wait until you get to teammate and start moving up, then jump.
